Bring the world closer and connect with a local community.
Our community immersions offer students unique local experiences in the Philippines, Vietnam, Mexico, Indonesia, Brazil and Malaysia — all from the comfort of their homes. We invite students to explore these countries through dancing, cooking, playing, and conversing with our partner communities — forging meaningful connections while having lots of fun!
How it works
Depending on which community you want to connect with, we will assign you a local Virtual Guide who will be the bridge between you and one of our partner communities. Our guides have spent the last number of years building strong relationships with these communities to help them address some of the most pressing problems they face; and will be able to give wonderful insight on the history and growth of each community.
After sharing the story and context of the community, your guide will facilitate games and activities to allow both students and community members to get comfortable with each other. These activities will also showcase the culture of the country you’re virtually visiting.
Students will then have a chance to interact with the community members, ask them questions, and build a deeper connection.

Welcome to Silver Heights!
One of the first community we build a long term partnership with is the Gawad Kalinga community of Silver Heights.
Before moving to Caloocan (north of Metro Manila), the residents of Gawad Kalinga were informal settlers of Quezon City (the biggest city in Metro Manila). As informal settlers, they were constantly being forced out of their homes and land by corporations who wanted to put-up commercial buildings as well as the government itself, without being given any support for housing or proper living.
Now, 11 years since it was built, Silver Heights is more than just a residential compound. They are a fully functional and almost self-reliant community.
