Have you ever wondered how you can truly make a difference in peoples’ lives?
I’m not sure about you, but this thought has been on my mind for a while now, especially after the unprecedented changes brought about by the pandemic, where many marginalised communities have been adversely affected. I had heard that one of the best ways to help such communities would be through social entrepreneurship. So I have decided to embark on an exciting journey to explore social entrepreneurship. And I have found the perfect opportunity to do so - at MAD!
I was initially drawn to MAD because of its unwavering support and commitment towards social entrepreneurship, and its sustainability initiatives aimed at promulgating sustainable tourism. Since I have been volunteering at various organisations and have mentored students from underprivileged backgrounds for many years, such initiatives by MAD which help improve the livelihood of individuals around the globe are inspiring to me and align with my personal motivations as well. I am sure this experience will be useful as I hope to become a social entrepreneur one day too!
In this series of “10 Weeks of Discovering Social Entrepreneurship”, I will be exploring the various types of work social entrepreneurs undertake and their impact on communities, sharing my perspectives and reflecting on various topics, working on international programmes, and many more! Through this series, I aim to better educate myself about the intricacies and challenges of social entrepreneurship so that I too, in my own way, can create an impact on communities in the future. So come join me on this exciting journey and discover social entrepreneurship together to gain a truly enriching and fulfilling experience!
